Share Your Photos With Thousands of Photographers!
First things first...
I realize you may have waited a little longer than usual for this newsletter! So I apologize for the unusual delay since the previous edition. It's been a busy time and lots has changed at Photography Art Cafe (I hope you like the redesign...? let me know your feedback here!).
But there have been more than just superficial changes happening. You can now upload and share your best photos with thousands of other Photography Art Cafe readers (more below). Watch the comments stack up, and tell others what you think about their pictures.
Plus, you can freely vent your outrageous opinions and ideas on the site - on any subject that you choose! Just bought a new camera? How's it going? Happy with it, or need to warn others off!? What's your favourite photography magazine? Ever tried selling your photos?
Photography Art Cafe has also plunged into social media recently. So if you'd like to know about the stunning photos, promising exhibitions, brilliant articles and entertaining interviews that catch my attention - be sure to follow me on Facebook!
Oh, and of course there are plenty of new articles throughout the site to check out!
Time to Share!
I have spent 18 months sharing everything I know and love about photography on Photography Art Cafe. Now it's your turn to join in! I, and all the readers of Photography Art Cafe, are really keen to see your best photos and hear your opinions.
I'm really interested to know what you think about your camera; what the best photography guide you've ever read is; who your favourite photographer of the moment is - or favourite photo; what you have done to try selling your photos; what magazine you subscribe to and so on. So don't keep it all to yourself!
There have already been some cool photos shared and brilliant articles written!

Write for Photography Art Cafe!
Yep, that's right! Photography Art Cafe has now reached a stage where I'm ready to accelerate its growth by inviting knowledgeable and passionate photographers to contribute articles in exchange for payment.
But I pride myself on maintaing high standards at Photography Art Cafe. All articles must be clearly written and packed with genuinely useful, interesting information. If you think you could provide high quality articles on a photography related subject of your choice, this could be a great opportunity for you. You will receive $45 in exchange for an article of 600 - 900 words. Discover more about this here.
The Social Side of P-A-C
As someone who spends far too long exploring the world of photography online, it's been a fairly modest leap into sharing all of my findings through social media! Photography Art Cafe on Facebook is an outlet for my recent discoveries.
I love telling everyone about an incredible photograph I've just spotted by some unknown travel photographer, or brilliant interview with a famous photographer that's been posted on Youtube! If you'd like to keep up to date with events at Photography Art Cafe and see what I've been exploring - start following me on Facebook now.
Aspiring member of the Twitterati!? You'll find me there too, tweeting about my favourite online haunts and recent photography experiences. So join me on Twitter here!
Recent(ish) Discovery for Photobooks
You may I have gathered, from reading the 'Printing Digital Pictures' section of the site, that I'm a big fan of getting photos printed online (it just takes all the pain out of the whole business, and if you know where to go will always get professional results).
There are a few companies that I have use a lot (MOO, York Photo, Photobox, Snapfish), and frequently recommend to other photographers. But I can now add another to my list of faves: MyPublisher.
They basically specialize in photo books. I created a couple of books with them recently and the quality was stunning! One was a chunky hardcover, the other bound with leather. It's the coolest thing when you see such a professional looking item full of your own photos and text.
They have over 600 templates to choose from! In other words you can make the pages look however you want. Plus the design process is a breeze, with a fool proof drag and drop system.
So, if you're on the lookout for a way to compile a collection of your images really effectively, using something that will last for a long time - I would definitely point you towards MyPublisher.
Quotable Quote and Picture of the Month
This month's quotable quote:
Above all, I craved to seize the whole essence, in the confines of one single photograph, of some situation that was in the process of unrolling itself before my eyes.
- Henri Cartier Bresson
Photo of the month:
I won't bother trying to explain how incredibly magnificent this photograph is. Just take a look at it. Surely a photo of a lifetime...
That's it for October's newsletter! I hope you get involved with sharing your photos and opinions on Photography Art Cafe in the coming weeks. I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures!
All the best,
