If you're like me the last thing on your mind right now - just 3 days after Christmas - will be 'buying things'! I was 'shopped-out' several weeks ago and my tolerance for in-your-face commercialism is at a pretty low level right now! Photography is a classic victim advertizing - "Buy this shiny new thing because you need it. It will make you a better photographer".

99% of the time we don't need it. What we need is to learn how to use what we've got better. There are too many examples of the great photographers not taking excessive interest in equipment (e.g Cartier-Bresson using his 35mm Leica for his entire career) to mention.
So my post-Christmas tip: don't indulge in a frenzy of 'Sale' shopping for equipment, but seriously start learning how to really have fun with your camera (always the best way to get better). And on that note - a shrewd move would be to grab a really top-notch, inspirational guide to photography - which like everything else is dirt cheap at the moment!
Where might you find that kind of thing? Well, Digital Photography School have put on a series of 12 barn-storming deals this Christmas (12 Days of Christmas etc etc), and undoubtedly 3 of the best of them are for DPS's own outstanding photography guides. The following e-books are beautifully arranged and illustrated, plus full of immediately usable advice. You will find these, and the 9 other deals here! They're ending the offer on the 1st January, so not long left now...

"Transcending Travel" + "Captivating Colour" Both for $17
